50ft cruiser sterned narrowboat built in 2005 by Debdale wharf and fitted out by Calcutt Boats.

Engine: 1.8 BMC by Calcutt with PRM 150 g/box with only hours
Fuel Tank: 47 gallon
Water Tank: 190 gallon
Electric system: 3 leisure batteries and independent starter battery charged by an alternator and a split charge relay supply the craft with 12 volt circuits for most lights, pumps and accessories. A 240 volt system with shore power connection and RCD consumer unit is also fitted.
Heating: Is by means of Solid fuel stove (morso Squirrel) located centrally in the craft with a 5KW heat output. There is also an Alde gas boiler installed that has recently undergone full service and has had a new burner control module and thermostat fitted. This heats all the radiators throughout the craft as well as providing hot water.
Hot water: Is achieved from the Calorifier tank located in the engine room. This is heated when running the engine, when running the Alde gas boiler or by a 240volt immersion heater when connected to shore power.

From the spacious cruiser stern deck you enter into the galley. There are cupboards for cruising apparatus and wet weather gear within easy reach of the helmsman. On the port side is the main galley area which includes a 12v fridge, stainless steel sink and drainer. Gas oven. grill and 4 burner hob with preparation and worktop space with cupboards, draws and eye level cup rack. Opposite the galley area is a two seater single dinette with table which folds down to offer an additional single berth when required.
The lounge area is open plan with two free standing reclining chairs to offer maximum comfort. There is a squirrel stove and also a set of side doors for ventilation.
The bathroom is located offset to port. Inside a thetford cassette toilet with access panel into the corridor. Wash basin, and hip bath with shower.
The bedroom is at the front of the craft. A fixed double bed with fitted reading lights and storage cabinet over. Additional storage draws under the bed and also a full height hanging wardrobe.
Overall Thornbird 2 is a well presented professionally built craft, well equipped for extended cruising holidays or live-a-board use. The boat doesn’t require any immediate work and with a recent BSC and hull blacking would make a perfect starter or family boat that is ready to cruise.
