Warspite

Builder: Pinder Year Built: Circa 1970 Length: 60ft Style: Cruiser Location: Alvecote Basin Price: £12,000.00

Built circa 1973 by J PInder boat builders for the Royal Navy "Warspite" was one of 4 craft each built as a mock up of a warship. There were a couple of frigates a destroyer and Warspite was the submarine.

Following an extensive tour of the UK inland waterways used as a recruitment stunt the craft moved into private ownership in the late 70's early 80's At this time her submarine superstructure was removed and replaced with a somewhat more conventional narrowboat cabin.

Over the years she has been used and altered and of late has been a self supporting off grid live aboard.

Warspite has a generous solar panel system

BMC 1.8 that has undergone a top end rebuild recently by Kate Boats of Warwick

There has been a recent hull survey that has shown good thickness of metal under the water line but has identified some deep pitting that in places it is reccommended for spot welding to fill the pits or patch plating/replacement of steel.

Hence the very low price for this 60ft narrowboat with a wealth of History.
